Search the Internet and find an interesting school.  Go to the school's website and familiarize yourself with it.  Then, write a description of the website.  You can use the questions below to help you write your description.  Write at least 5 sentences.
¿Cómo es el sitio web? (¿interesante? ¿aburrido? ¿grande? ¿pequeño?)
¿Hay fotos? ¿Hay muchos elementos gráficos? ¿Hay mucho color?
¿Qué información hay sobre la escuela? (¿el horario? ¿la dirección? ¿el teléfono? ¿los nombres de los profesores? ¿una lista de los cursos? ¿la historia de la escuela?)

Una postal de tus vacaciones:

Escriba una postal a un(a) amigo(a) describiendo tus vacaciones. Escoge un sitio para tus vacaciones (real o imaginario) y apúntalo en el espacio. También incluye de tres a cinco actividades que es posible hacer en este lugar. Escriba al menos diez oraciones.

Spanish I blog chapter 2

Write a critique of a sculpture by Fernando Botero, a famous Colombian painter and sculptor. Write at least five sentences.
Look at the sculpture, then look at the review you read in the Lectura section. Write down some useful words and phrases from the article that you might want to use in your own review.
Here are some to get you started, but look up any new words you might require in a bilingual dictionary. ¡OJO! Remember to cross-check the words you choose in order to get the one that best fits what you are trying to say.

Post topic for Spanish II chapter 6

Write a paragraph that describes a scene in your daily life. Remember, the topic sentence should state your main idea, and the supporting details should amplify it, give examples, and provide other interesting information related to the paragraph’s topic. You can include a photo of that scene and describe the situation.  Use the present tense.

First blog assignment for Spanish I and II

Below are the topics for the first blog assignmenst for Spanish I and II. 
Before you write these posts, you may want to write an additional post telling us about yourself (in Spanish of course :)

Remember, that you have the full instructions and help in the iLrn Student Activities Manual.  The last 4 or 5 activities assigned from each chapter are the writing sections.  They are the same topic as the posts for your blogs.

Spanish I
Imagine that you are writing an e-mail that will be sent into outer space with the hope of receiving an answer from someone who lives in another world. Would you use tú or usted? Why? What would the tone of your letter be?
Now, write the email keeping in mind the questions above. 
Here are some additional phrases that may be helpful as you write:

Me llamo...	(Tener)... años.	¿Cómo...?	Hasta pronto.
(Ser)...	Vivo en...	¿Cuál es tu/su...?

Spanish II
Write three short paragraphs about your views on work and leisure time.  What three topics would you most like to develop? Choose from the list or include ideas of your own.

el trabajo y el tiempo libre
la importancia del dinero
la importancia del "status"
la importancia de tener un trabajo interesante

Blog questions

You can use your msstate account to set up your blog.  If that doesn't work, you can also try one of your other email accounts (Yahoo, Gmail, etc.)
That should solve some of your problems.  Also, some students using Macs have been having problems.  If you are usinga Mac, try setting up your blog on a PC and see if that makes a difference.  Then you will be able to access it on your Mac.

Creating your blog

To create your blog for Spanish class you will have to follow the steps below:

1. go to http://www.blogger.com/
2. click "GET STARTED"
3. create your account (put in your email address, create your password, etc)
4. name your blog and choose a theme

Remember you can make your blog private if you prefer.  Just make sure to give your teacher and Lab assistant access to it.

Enjoy! You can use this blog not just for class but for other personal posts so have fun!

Spanish class blog

In this class you will create a series of blog posts in Spanish.  You can customize your blog to fit your personal style.  You can also poste more than the required blogs (in English or in Spanish) but make sure that the ones that are required are in Spanish :)
You can share your blog with your friends and family, or use it only for the purpose of the class. The choice is yours!
